When even your Aunt Edna sports a cell phone (OMG!) it's no surprise that cell phone sales across the world will top one billion handsets a year by 2009—making cell phones not only the most extensive consumer electronics device, but also putting cell-phone users at more than 50 percent of the world’s population. Samsung i900 Omnia, $270

With a name that means “everything” in Latin and “wish” in Arabic, you’d expect a truly flawless device. And Samsung certainly delivers on their promise. The Omnia, powered by Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional (which includes PowerPoint, Excel and Word), features a full touch screen (in addition to the infamous Samsung optical mouse), an impressive five-megapixel camera, and comes with every conceivable connectivity option (including WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, USB and more). It's no doubt Samsung’s best smartphone ever.
